“Adventure awaits.”
Hey friends!
During our week in Colorado, we took a day-trip out to the Rocky Mountain National Park. Though we got a little turned around trying to find food on the way out, we eventually got there. Right as we were driving into the park, there were elk grazing in the field to welcome us in.

The mountains were absolutely beautiful. It was a bit of a gloomy day, and we got a little bit of a misty sort of rain once or twice in the day. That didn’t stop us from having our adventure, though!

Sometimes, the rain can provide for some really nice pictures, too.

As we got higher up, we found the snow on the peaks.

This made for a fairly treacherous path in certain places. Heading up the inclines was a bit of a struggle, however, sliding back down was quite fun!

And, of course, we had to taste the snow from the Rockies. You’ll be glad to know, it tastes pretty much the same. So, don’t go for the snow. Go for the beautiful scenery.

Another path we walked led to the Thompson River. It was really cool!

We did smell skunk at one point, which was a bit unnerving because I was not really wanting to smell like skunk the rest of the day. However, we never ended up running into him.

Back in the open, we sat on a rock for a little bit to enjoy the scenery and watch the herd of elk grazing in the fields.

It was a wonderful day. I’d like to go back some day to do more exploring in those mountains.
Also, check out my friend’s blog, too! Emily is a great photographer, and you can see her pictures from our Colorado trip as well as from many other adventures on her photography blog. Click here to see it.
Thanks for reading!
